That's right - you use the pendant you would have gotten on arrival. And that is basically how it works. Whatever you've asked for will be in your home when you return there. Or, if it's a power of yours, it comes back immediately. [Stowing the pendant back under her shirt, Zelda shakes her head.] It gains a form of power, I believe. Some kind of energy.
[The smile remains, broadening a bit at her words. The observation, maybe. It makes him think a bit.] Yeah? Wonder if that's because this place isn't what we're all used to, or if it's really different from anyone else's world.

... Do you trust it? [He sort of blurts that out before he can filter it.] I mean...if it gets some kind of power from things we ask it for, or from us, or something like that...what does it need that power for, anyway?
